Google today introduced Nano Banana Pro, a new image generation model built on the Gemini 3 Pro architecture that integrates advanced reasoning capabilities with high-fidelity visual creation. Also designated as the Gemini 3 Pro Image model, this release succeeds the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image system and targets both consumer and enterprise markets with enhanced text rendering and stylistic controls.

Advanced Reasoning and Data Visualization

Nano Banana Pro leverages the reasoning faculties of the Gemini 3 architecture to synthesize context-rich visuals from complex data inputs.

The model can generate educational infographics and technical diagrams by connecting to Google Search for real-time information, such as live weather data or current sports statistics.

This integration allows the system to produce step-by-step instructional guides and botanically accurate illustrations without requiring separate data processing steps.

Text Rendering and Localization

The architecture addresses technical challenges associated with text generation within images, supporting legible rendering for content ranging from short taglines to extensive paragraphs.

The model includes multilingual support capable of localizing text elements directly within a visual scene, such as translating product labels while maintaining the original aesthetic.

Users can further direct the output with specific typographic instructions, controlling font styles, textures, and calligraphy .

Professional Control and Consistency

To support professional workflows, the model introduces features for maintaining character and object consistency across multiple generated images.

Nano Banana Pro can blend up to 14 distinct input images and preserve visual consistency for up to five different characters within a single scene. “Studio-quality” editing tools allow users to adjust fundamental image properties, including lighting conditions, depth of field, and camera angles, after the initial generation .

Enterprise and Consumer Availability

The model is currently rolling out globally through the Gemini app, where it powers the “Thinking” model option for consumers.

Enterprise integration is underway for Google Ads and Google Workspace applications, including Slides and Vids.

Developers can access the model via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Vertex AI, while high-end creative tools like Flow are available specifically for Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Transparency and Safety Standards

Google has implemented a dual-layer transparency protocol for content generated by Nano Banana Pro.

All outputs contain SynthID, an imperceptible digital watermark designed to identify AI-generated media.

Additionally, a visible “Gemini sparkle” watermark is applied to images generated by free and standard Pro users, though this visual marker is removed for Google AI Ultra subscribers and enterprise developers to facilitate commercial use .
